If I should seek to know Your grace
The breadth of such a quest
Would take me very far way
As far as east from west
If I should climb to catch the view
How high Your love’s sustained
It would take me high as heav’n
Is stretched above earth’s plain.
If I should live as long need be
To know Your mercy’s end
Time eternal would not span
The length to comprehend
No, I’m too small to wrap my mind
Around Your ways, O God
Yet small enough to wrap myself
In ever widening awe.
