Psalm 63

Verse 1

My soul is so thirsty, my flesh faints for You
Down here, dry and weary, where water is scarce
But rather than searching, my gaze turns on high
Your glory above,
Your pow’r and Your love
Are better than life.

Verse 2

These dry lips will praise You, as long as I live
And, now, in Your name I will lift up my hands
Though now I am hungry, my soul soon will feast
And my lips that taste
Such riches of grace
Will joyfully sing.

Verse 3

And when I have eaten my fill of Your bread
I will not forget You when I go to bed
In watches of midnight, my thoughts still will dwell
With joy I will sing
Here under Your wings
For You are my help

Verse 4

My soul clings to Jesus, for by Him I’m held
While those which would harm me will sink down to hell
The sword shall consume them, and silence their lies.
But our mouths will sing
For Christ, our great King
Will be our true prize.
